So I re-learned how to actually properly hack game binaries for LBA and CDDA (and I wrote a few tools myself to help me do it faster) and better/easier ways to downsample game video/audio (including actually looping ADX files on my backups when needed). ![]() ![]() I wanted selfboot copies of as many of my games as possible and I wanted to do all of them right this time. Eventually I took a long hiatus from this stuff until late 2011 when I decided to rip my entire GD-ROM collection (it took several months since, you know, 11.52KB max transfer speed for the serial cable). Around this time and into 2008, I released a few of my own selfboot rips on Underground Gamer as well as a torrent of just tools (ripping, hacking, downsampling, selfbooting, etc.). In 2006 after a bit of a hiatus from all of it, I learned the basics of hacking game binaries to boot from LBA 11702 and the basics of downsampling SFD and ADX files. Shortly after, I learned to rip my own GD-ROMs using the dreamcast coders (serial) cable and the bare minimum of selfbooting these games (I want to say Sonic Shuffle was my first successful copy). As a teenager in 2005 I learned how to selfboot existing dreamcast images using the Echelon selfboot kit and cdrtools (first game I selfbooted for myself was a boot-disc version of Resident Evil: Code Veronica). So I've been out of the Dreamcast scene for a number of years.
